When most politicians leave office, they tend to go on long media free vacations for a few months to help them settle back into civilian life. Some even go off the grid for longer, bordering on a creepy reclusive lifestyle, growing beards and packing on some pounds. But not our former Mayor of the past 12 years Mike Bloomberg. See, Mr. Bloomberg could've went and bought an island or something but he would rather jump back into the action at his namesake media company where he still holds all the power albeit without a title.
He could easily push out current Bloomberg LP CEO Dan Doctoroff and take the day to day reigns back, but Mr. Bloomberg instead is rolling up his sleeves and digging into all things editorial which is making some people nervous at the company. He attended some early morning editorial meetings where he bore the staff talking about what stories he found interesting and ones he didn't. Like for example, he could care less about the slog that is the Alex Rodriguez scandal. It is said that Mr. Bloomberg's focus will be on helping to expand Bloomberg View possibly under the title of Chairman. No one knows what his roll will be. For now he is just basically walking around the office letting everyone know that daddy is home and getting lost in the massive new space his company moved to while he was mayor. The Boss says he has to get used to the new office. New to him of course.
