Some huge layoffs are on the horizon at two major companies. Between the two companies about 800 jobs total will be eliminated. At Twitter, the company which is still trying to find a new path under CEO Jack Dorsey is said to be close to eliminating about 300 people. This would be a second round following the first 300 layoffs that happened right after Jack Dorsey returned to the company. Over at Newspaper giant Gannett, which has been buying anything it can get its hands on, the company which is said to be close to acquiring Tronc (formerly Tribune Publishing) for $1 billion is planning to kill 400 jobs or two percent of its workforce.
