Ben Clissitt will oversee Bloomberg Media’s digital portfolio across EMEA, including the daily development and publication of compelling content across all platforms
Press Release:
BLOOMBERG NAMES BEN CLISSITT DIRECTOR OF DIGITAL CONTENT FOR MEDIA IN EMEA
October 2, 2014
London, Thursday 2nd October, 2014 - Bloomberg Media’s Managing Director in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Adam Freeman today announced Ben Clissitt will join the firm as director of digital content for its international multi-platform media organisation in EMEA. Bloomberg Media includes web, mobile, television, digital video, radio, print magazines and live events.
Clissitt was most recently the digital director of visual journalism at the Telegraph Media Group and previously held senior editorial roles at the Guardian and Independent.
He will oversee Bloomberg Media’s digital portfolio across EMEA, including the daily development and publication of compelling content across all platforms. He will also lead the regional digital content and production teams and serve as the editorial liaison between Bloomberg’s editorial, digital technology, commercial and operations teams.
Clissitt joins in the new year and will be based in Bloomberg’s European headquarters in London.
“Ben is a terrific addition to the growing Bloomberg Media team in EMEA, bringing more than 20 years of leadership experience driving award-winning creative and innovative teams across digital and print platforms. He will play a critical role in the continuous evolution and innovation of our digital properties and his track record speaks for itself,” says Freeman.
Murdoch MacLennan, Chief Executive, Telegraph Media Group says: “Ben has been a superb member of the Telegraph team, whom we hold in the highest regard. He has led our sports team to unrivalled heights, including our award winning 2012 London Olympic Games coverage and most recently he has done an excellent job as our digital director, visual journalism. We wish him every success in his new role.”
Ben Clissitt adds: “I am delighted to be joining Bloomberg at such an exciting moment. It is a world class journalism company with huge resource, range and ambition. It has been a very difficult decision to leave the Telegraph Media Group at such a pivotal time as the Telegraph, under Murdoch MacLennan, enters a major phase of digital transformation. I have had four very happy years here, and been part of some fantastic achievements working with top-class people. I very much look forward to the next challenge, working again with Adam, whom I know from our time together at the Guardian, and the leadership team of Justin Smith, Josh Tyrangiel and Josh Topolsky in New York.”
