There is no doubt that he supports American's rights to own them. But he also clearly believes in common sense laws to help prevent gun violence. He tried to spark what he thought would've been a civil discussion among the Guns & Ammo's readership and got verbally gunned down for it. Readers demanded his head on a stick temporarily bringin his almost 40 year gun journalism career to a halt. But he wanted to share his side of the story and so he chose Politico Magazine to do so.
