Michele Promaulayko, the successful editor in chief of Rodale's Women’s
Health, is leaving the print world behind, for hopefully greener pastures at Yahoo!. Starting on August 25, Ms. Promaulayko will lead Yahoo's health vertical as Editor in Chief from New York. She joins recent hires like
Joe Zee who is now EIC of Yahoo! Fashion,
Bobbi Brown and Britt Aboutaleb, EIC and managing editor of Yahoo! Beauty respectively. Yahoo! CEO Marissa Mayer has been recruiting talent from the print world to help boost traffic and attract younger audiences to Yahoo.
Promaulayko worked for the Rodale-owned magazine for close to six years
and saw the title grow in circulation and ad revenue. While most other
women-centric magazines dipped in single-copy sales in the first half of
the year, Women’s Health saw an uptick of 3.3 percent, to 310,768
copies, according to figures from the Alliance for Audited Media. Women’s Health’s total circulation is 1,537,140.
