Time Inc's InStyle Brand Expands to China in Licensing Deal

Fashionistas who help to make up the world's second biggest economy is about to get another fashion publication to thumb through. Time Inc is lending its InStyle brand name to Modern Media Group which publishes Modern Lady, a weekly Chinese fashion publication to create a new publication called "InStyle Modern Lady". Content will be handled by the current Modern Lady staff and continue to serve the current Modern Lady readership. Modern Lady's former editor in chief Jerri Ng will lead the new publication as editor in chief. Less than a year ago, Time Inc killed the print edition of InStyle's UK edition turning its focus to digital only. Luckily this deal comes with a built in readership and subscribers.
“I could not be more excited about the launch of InStyle China. To see InStyle expand into such a massive, modern market is a thrill,” InStyle editor in chief Laura Brown said. “Not to mention it will be weekly, instead of monthly! I can’t wait to collaborate with the InStyle China team.”
