JOANNA COLES CALLS THE NEW PUBLICATION THE FUTURE OF TRAVEL MEDIA
Hearst and Airbnb's magazine is finally here. The first issue will hit newsstands on May 23 with a $3.99 cover price and a guaranteed circulation of 350,000. The magazine partnership which was announced more than a year ago and has been in production since then, will rely on Airbnb's massive user database for content. The partnership was pulled together by Hearst Chief Content Officer Joanna Coles who also serves as Hearst's official liaison to the tech industry. Ms. Coles also sits on the board of Snapchat parent company Snap Inc, another Hearst partner.Said Joanna Coles, Chief Content Officer, Hearst Magazines:
Airbnb is changing the way we travel, the way we connect and the way we see the world, People want to be adventurers, explorers and locals, not tourists. Airbnb is at the leading edge of travel and Airbnbmag is the future of travel media.”
Said Airbnb CEO Brian Chesky,
We know how many people are searching to stay in Havana, Detroit or Tokyo, and we know how many people want to go based on search dates for future trips. No one has billions of demand search data points for nearly every country in the world. That gives us a leg up.”
