Its no secret that NBC Universal News Group (NBC News, MSNBC, CNBC etc) has been suffering under the leadership of Chairwoman Pat Fili-Krushel and President Deborah Turness. Because of this, the top brass at NBC Universal is making a change at the top of the news group, replacing Ms. Fili-Krushel with Andy Lack, who once ran NBC News. Ms. Fili-Krushel who is a favorite of NBC Universal CEO Steve Burke, won't be out of a job as she will be placed in a newly created roll at the company. The return of Andy Lack could mean many things and lead to many changes. For example, NBC New President Deborah Turness who was brought in by Ms. Fili-Krushel could be eased out. it is possible that former NBC News President Steve Capus could return in a broader roll. The return of Andy Lack, some believe also means the Brian Williams will stay put and be back on the air soon. Many inside the news group are hoping for a deal that brings Mr. Lack back to the company as the news division is seen as a total mess. Pat Fili-Krushel is one of the lucky ones. She failed at her job and not only is she helping to woo her replacement, She also gets a new position within the company because the CEO likes her. Must be nice.
