Hansche will report to Rodale CEO Maria Rodale and President Scott Schulman keeping them in the loop on the company's food strategy
Melanie Hansche who served as the managing editor of Aussie food magazine Donna Hay will now pump food content into all of Rodale's magazines and their websites because you know, America is a country of foodies. No word on how this will overlap with James Oseland's soon to be launched Organic Life if at all. Its easy for one to ask why not task Mr. Oseland who joined the company back in August with distributing food related content to the other titles? Anyway, it was Ms. Hansche's love of Rodale's brands that got her in the door, as well as her food background of course.
Hansche, who has 15 years of experience in print and digital publishing and has specialized in food media for more than a decade, joined donna hay magazine in 2007 and played a key role in developing and executing the editorial direction and day-to-day operations of the multi-platform brand. For the past five years, donna hay magazine experienced year-over-year print circulation growth, produced its two highest-selling issues, embraced the new digital environment to become Australia’s #1 digital magazine app, and received numerous industry accolades, including Food Magazine of the Year at the Australian Magazine Awards in 2012. During her tenure, Hansche also served as the editor of several of bestselling author Donna Hay’s cookbooks, including The New Classics, Fresh and Light, Simple Dinners, Fast, Fresh, Simple and Seasons.
