The drip of exits continue at Time Inc as long time Departures magazine editor in chief Richard David Story is said to be out. The man whose twitter handle is @MrDepartures, lived the life printed inside the magazine pages, jet setting across the globe for the 17 years he's been with the magazine. Departures and other titles like Food and Wine and Travel & Leisure became part of Time Inc 3 years ago when Time Inc acquired American Express Publishing. It was just a year ago that Mr. Story allegedly threw a tantrum when his new office downtown didn't meet his requirements. His bosses at the time Evelyn Webster and Norm Pearlstine ran to his defense but the not so good vibes still lingered among some staffers. One person even went as far as to say that people at the magazine were waiting for him to leave. Well it looks like they got their wish according to
WWD. This exit comes as Time Inc is expected to find out how much its worth to Meredith Corp and a private investment group lead by billionaire Edgar Bronfman Jr. Official offers to buy Time Inc are due this week. Mr. Story's departure also follows behind news that Time Inc plans to cut $100 million in costs this year.
