Meredith is taking a page out of the Dave Carey playbook and launching a new lifestyle magazine built around HGTV Fixer Upper stars Chip and Joanna Gaines. The Gaines have built quite a nice image and brand for themselves in Texas under the Magnolia name. Their businesses have expanded over the years to include a bed and breakfast called Magnolia House, there is Magnolia Market online and physical location at the
Silos, Magnolia Homes, Magnolia Realty, books, merchandise and the list goes on. So it isn't a big surprise that a major magazine publisher is jumping on the opportunity to capitalize on their brand. We are only surprised that it wasn't Hearst Magazines which has done such deals before in the past. The magazine which is currently titled "Joanna and Chip Gaines Magnolia Lifestyle" will join the Martha Stewart Brand at Meredith. The new magazine will launch with 400,000 copies and will be available on newsstands with a cover price of $7.99. The magazine will be packed with content focused on outdoor living, gardening, entertaining, and interior design of course among other things. Not sure if HGTV which has its own magazine with Hearst will allow the magazine to appear on the couple's show, but we're sure it will be available at all the Gaines' business locations and online market.
