The New York Post continues to show the New York Daily News how its done but they aren't getting it

OK we understand if the New York Daily News is trying to uphold a certain image and all but, in order to move copies at newsstands you need to get a little crazy because at the end of the day no one likes boring unless you're a Wall Streeter and you read the Journal or Financial Times. The New York Post may be known for its fuck ups and tabloidy ways but we always have to hand it to them. They know how to sell newspapers. Why wouldn't you pick up this morning's New York Post? Sure when you get down to the actual story it's more of the same, but chances are, its the cover that got you there, not because its ground breaking or anything, but because its creative and sums up exactly whats going on in Texas.

The New York Post’s endorsement of Obama yesterday, worth as much as perverted cop that pimped a runaway

Published: Friday, February 01, 2008

-ZOE S.

So yesterday The New York Post went ahead and endorsed Senator Barack Obama. However you would think that with such a statement announcement they would have given the man the whole front page, nope. The Post split the cover 50/50 with the sleezy cop who was pimping out some runaway. You gotta love The Post.

Leave it up to the New York Post to get all graphic with their headlines

We have been staying away from the whole Anna Nicole media blitz since the day she checked out. However we had to stick our big toe in just for a quick second, because this morning's New York Post front page headline stuck an image in our heads.

Front Pages: Another sex bust, but this time without Time Warner CFO Wayne Pace

The New York Daily News and Post are both on the same page this morning, going big and bold on the latest madam story to break. So far no high profile individuals are caught up in this one like the much talked about mid town madam who counted Time Warner CFO Wayne Pace as a top client.

The Post Just Had to Pull a Saddam Out of Their Ass

Published: Wednesday, December 27, 2006

IN this round of "Morning Covers" we have to hand the trophy to The Daily News for having 100% respect for a dead former President and giving him the full cover. The Post on the other hand has about 90% respect for a dead former President which is clear, due to the fact that, they still squeezed a headline about the soon to be dead Saddam on the cover. Come on guys, we would have waited to open the paper to see that headline. Then again you're the Post. What else should one expect from a paper who once employed an extortionist, gets headlines wrong, and dumps truck loads of copies while claiming high circ?

The Morning's Covers: They may actually be neck and neck this time

Published: Friday, November 17, 2006

Looks like Mort's paper is trying to get the hang of things when it comes to knowing what sells papers. The New York Daily News ran with an OJ Simpson cover story however they got a little too personal with the headline and opener. Note to the Daily News, leave the opinionated stuff to us bloggers and just report the news. We really don't care about how you feel about shit. The New York Post as usual stuck to their trashy tabloid ways focusing on more important news like the Tomkat nupes taking place this weekend complete with tabloid-esque artwork and all.
