Media Style: Les and Julie Moonves are not only the most tanned couple in media, they are one of the best dressed too

-SDH **Media Style is another one of our sporadic features where we take a look at the latest “trends” in the upper levels of the media industry. We have to be honest, we love Les and Julie Moonves. We know we have said some not so nice things about Les in the past but we have come to realize that the whole time we were talking shit about the CBS honcho, it was really our way of saying, "We like You". Les and Julie are always well tanned and well groomed even on down days. So how do they do it? Do they have someone who puts it all together for them? Is Julie the one who picks Les's outfits? Who knows? What we do know is that this media power couple has style, and that is why they are kicking off our revamped "Media Style" feature. The pic above is a recent outing. Les's black trench with black mock neck, grey slacks and black shoes, just spells I'm fucking powerful. That with Julie's get up is proof that this couple communicates on everything including what to wear.

Media Style: We all have our favorite piece of clothing right?

-Shomari Hines So what the guy is worth close to $10 Billion, that doesn't mean Viacom/CBS grandpa Sumner Redstone doesn't have a favorite piece of clothing in his closet. In this case its this olive green line patterned sports coat that the mogul wore to two of his movie premiers. At least he knew better to change the pants and shirt.

Some like to have that one friend in his/her circle that no one understands why, but love it anyway. Some of them even spend most of their time in the air traveling from coast to coast. On a Friday afternoon, Lunch in Miami, then off to the West Coast to visit the studio lot and then off to Vegas for a little R&R. Sunday, back in New York for Monday meetings. The Rapper Buddy: This is part of a media mogul's hint of cool. The odd photo op with a rapper at a game at the Garden The SUV: To hell with a Maybach, that's for rappers. A media mogul should be seen hopping out of the back of a tricked out Yukon Denali in front of his company headquarters lingering a bit to make sure people can smell his/her big dawg status. The Hot Personal Assistant: This is who travels with the media mogul wherever he goes. She is who will be hopping out of the tricked out Yukon Denali dressed as if she is a model for Fashion Week, scrolling through her bosses Blackberry only reading him the important emails and keeping tabs on his schedule. A hot personal assistant can also come in handy when the mogul is out of State and the wife is just too far away!!!! The Trophy Wife: The trophy wife should be on your arms at major industry events like the Oscars, Grammys and some of the movie premiers from your studio. Other than that, slip her the black American Express to keep her busy.

Jeff Zucker Tiki-rized and de-suited

Newly implanted NBC Universal Chieftain, Jeff "The Zuck" Zucker was on hand yesterday to welcome former NFLer Tiki Barber to the NBC family. When Jeff was the head of the television group, you wouldn't catch him out of a suit and tie. But at yesterday's press conference The Zuck looked more like it was casual Fridays. Guess he dressed to get the job and now that he got it, he can finally let loose.

MEDIA STYLE: It's OK Phil, you can relax now

Just this week we published a feature article on some of the problems we think could be holding back traditional media companies from getting their whole leg wet in this digital media thing. We mentioned that a lot of these corporate media execs are totally out of touch with the very people they depend on to report good news to the pigs on Wall Street. As a media exec your image is also important. You have to appeal to the pigs on Wall Street as well as to media circles and your underlings. Some of you however tend to go overboard by taking the corporate image thing too far, totally crossing the line from media exec to Wall Street banking old timer. Perfect example of this is the picture accompanying this post. The pic is of Viacom CEO Phil Dauman. Now if we didn't know who this dude was, we would think he was some dude from the stock exchange or something. Dress it down a bit Phil. Lose the cufflinks, and get a black leather jacket for casual Fridays. If you really want to generate new interest in Viacom, wear a black leather jacket, jeans and black turtle neck to the next media speaking event you attend. The talk of the week will be about what you wore as well and your company, which could lead to a little spike in your stock price. Show that you're comfortable and not some choked up corporate yes man. Your employees will respect you more when they see that you are human just like them.
