Fortune wants you to match "Nappy Headed hos" with the Neanderthal

-YOSH We love lists, we just have a thing for lists, and Fortune via CNNmoney.com continues to feed the beast that is our love for lists. The magazine lists "The 101 Dumbest Moments in Business, 2007" and of course you couldn't have a list like this without a couple of media idiots on it. Some media mentions include, Former HBO head Chris Albrecht and and his little domestic dust up. Fortune gets fun with the list and Initiates a game of "Match up" asking you to match the deed with the individual.

Rupert Murdoch named number two most powerful person in business. We predict he will be #1 next year or we will say nice things about David Pecker

-SDH Media king Rupert Murdoch came in on Fortune's "Power 25" list at number two right behind Apple iGod Steve Jobs. However we have to say that we think it should be the other way around. Rupe along with the Google dudes at number 4 and Disney's Bob Iger who came in second to last at 24 are the only media figures on the list. Missing from the list are media heavies like Time Warner's Dick Parsons and Jeff Bewkes, Jeff Zucker, Sumner Redstone and Les Moonves to name a few. Then again none of the above mentioned pulled off any major accomplishments this year. Some are empire builders. Others are hired guns. But if they truly have world-class oomph, they're on Fortune's subjective - yet really quite accurate - list of the most powerful businesspeople in the world. 25 most powerful people in business [Fortune]

The Folio 40 under and over 40

Most magazines today have a list where they stroke the egos of the very people they cover in their pages and Folio Magazine is no exception. The magazine industry magazine (yeah we know) rolled out their list of the 40 what they call best of the best that the industry has to offer. The list includes some known knowns and some known unknowns. Our favorite part of the list is the “Ones to watch” portion which has Mary Berner on top, not that the order in which they are listed means anything, well at least we don’t think so. The list doesn’t only include people it also includes publications and companies as well. Like for example Conde Nast’s soon to be launched business title Portfolio is included on this list with the question: Will the title stay strictly business-focused, as Conde Nast claims, or will it veer into the lifestyle category? Businessweek magazine brings us their list of "next generation tech leaders" and they are not as scary looking as past Businessweek listees. This year's list represents tech's best and brightest, culled from a long list of nominees by the top U.S. venture-capital firms and BusinessWeek.com editors. As often is the case with younger entrepreneurs, a lot of these guys—and as it happens, they're all men—are helping drive innovation on the Internet. We don't know if this is a good thing or a bad thing, but when Forbes magazine includes a photo scribbling celebrity blogger on their list of the biggest disrupters of 2006 we don't know whether to applaud the man queen or kill ourselves? Did Tom Freston really lose in 2006?

Market Watch's Shawn Langlois runs down his picks of the year's Winners and Losers. Though we do agree with his picks for winners, we kinda disagree with Tom Freston being placed on the loser's list. Yeah he got canned for losing out on the Myspace deal but we still believe Viacom Grandpa Sumner Redstone had something to do with the company missing that bus. Freston in our eyes is a winner. Come on, the guy walked away with a shit load of cash. If you ask us he is one of the biggest winners in 2006. Why? Like we said he got a sack of cash, and he no longer has to put up with Sumner's insecure ways. Piles of cash and pop culture éclat made 2006 a pretty good year for Borat and the YouTube guys. Red Herring's annual “Top 25 under 35” list features, well, the top 25 under 35 entrepreneurs who will set " the global technology agenda" We only hope these young entrepreneurs are not scary looking like the young entrepreneurs featured on Businessweek's list. Red Herring’s reporters thought long and hard about the most interesting and compelling young innovators they have encountered this year. In cover story “Titans in Waiting,” you will read about Elizabeth Holmes, who dropped out of Stanford University at age 19 and launched a startup that developed a monitoring system for tracking a person’s blood status remotely.
