David Pecker sure knows how to point fingers, but he should be standing in front of a mirror when he does it

Published: Monday, May 28, 2007

American Media (AMI) CEO David Pecker will do anything to push the attention off of him and his senior management team. The tabloid boss is said to have ripped AMI Editorial Director Bonnie Fuller a new one after seeing the recent cover of Men's Fitness which carried an overly enhanced image of tennis star Andy Roddick. Pecker is said to have told Fuller she is responsible because she should have caught it before it went to press.

You know what. Men’s Fitness didn't do what other magazines aren't doing. So they may have gotten carried away with the size of Andy Roddick's arms but that's not really the big deal here now is it? Pecker's real anger is due to AMI’s in the toilet numbers and this is his attempt to some how throw the blame on Bonnie Fuller for the company's constant lousy quarterly reports. Bonnie, you should get out while the getting is good and let the captain go down with that sinking ship.

Did Page Six Editor Rich Johnson's wife give birth while he was traveling?

Published: Tuesday, March 20, 2007

-Neil Yoshida

We're kinda confused. Yesterday we heard that Page Six Editor Rich Johnson and his wife welcomed a new baby. However on the Page Six page, it said that he was traveling. Shouldn't it have said "Richard Johnson is on paternity leave"?

Martha Stewart points fingers

Published: Thursday, March 15, 2007

Apparently still ticked off by how she looked in courtroom sketches during her trial, Martha Stewart was surprised to see that the woman behind the sketches was in her studio audience and didn't think twice to call her out.

Yahoo may be getting their industry reporting a little mixed up

Scrolling for our usual worthy media news this morning, we came across the story headline above. We took the time and browsed through the article but then we got a little confused. Either, Yahoo is getting its industry reporting mixed up or, we're missing something. One tobacco company buying another is not really entertainment news is it, unless some movie star or rapper has signed on as the pusher?

Headline Screen Shot: New York Daily News does it's New Yorkly duties and speaks for the people

Published: Friday, February 16, 2007

The New York Daily News speaks out to Mayor Bloomberg on behalf of pissed off New Yorkers who got a ticket for being stuck in the snow due to the lack of effort from the NYC sanitation department to attack it on time. Will headlines like these make Mayor Bloomberg nix all those tickets issued to trapped cars? Hmmm we doubt it, but its a shot.

We were under the impression that media companies were already spending the bulk of their ad/marketing budgets attracting eyeballs via new media vehicles such as, the Internet, video games, mobile, blah blah blah blah! Guess we were wrong or something.

Nearly 90 percent of all companies polled in a new study will use part of their marketing budgets to advertise in video games, virtual communities or other new media. The survey by the American Advertising Federation underscores the shift in advertising spending away from television, magazines and, particularly, newspapers, which have suffered badly from declining circulation as more media choices have become available. Concluding that "traditionally staid media categories are in need of innovation if they are to remain competitive," the study found that 73 percent of the executives interviewed planned to spend up to one-fifth of their budgets on new media.

Gawker's Lockhart Steele a Pussy? Nahh Just Smart

Published: Tuesday, December 26, 2006

This morning's New York Post awaits Gawker's coverage of what happened over the Holidays between Gawker editorial guru, Lockhart Steele, his lady friend and a table of big drunk guys. We would kinda like the full story too but we wanted to point one thing out. Lockhart Steele did the right thing not to piss off a table full of big drunk dick heads, because god knows the Post' headline would have probably been different. Hey Lock we hope your lady friend is doing OK.

Headline Screenshot of the day: Post enjoyed coming up with this one

Published: Wednesday, October 18, 2006

The New York Post gets even more pleasure this week with the headline above and our family over at Musicwiredaily.com (welcome back) added some visuals that would have probably made the post story a little more exciting other than mentioning the individual had some kind of ties to Jay Z and Beyonce.

Headline screenshot of the day: Killing an elephant's elephanthood

Published: Thursday, October 12, 2006

Walt Disney World's Animal Kingdom has a head veterinarian and he is proposing vasectomies to control the elephant population in Africa, rather than killing. But either way the poor bastards are dead. We didn't even know Disney employs a head veterinarian. When we saw the headline below we literally felt a not so pleasant sensation down there.

"I think that obviously everybody would agree that culling has caused a lot of social issues with the elephants," Stetter said from the Disney theme park in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. "Part of our hope is that there will be less culling in the years ahead if we are able to use this tool."

There probably will be less fucking too!

Headline Screenshot of the day: And we thought Katie could do no wrong

Published: Tuesday, October 10, 2006

No wonder Les Moonves religiously plays U.P.O.D (Under Promise,Over Deliver). Its for reasons like the over hyped arrival of Katie Couric to the CBS Evening News desk and first week ratings being too good to be true. Ms. Couric's news cast has been dropping down the ratings charts. We guess propping herself up on the desk and showing her famous stems isn't cutting it anymore. Next she may have to tie in some waldrobe malfunctions to spike ratings up a bit.

Nielsen isn't loving Katie Couric, whose ratings have consistently fallen in the five weeks she's been on the air as anchor of the CBS Evening News. Last week the former Today star's broadcast averaged 7.04 million viewers, putting her in third place behind NBC's Nightly News, with 8.56 million, and ABC's World News, with 7.97 million, the Associated Press reports based on Nielsen Media Research.

Fresh off the wire: Blog about Keith Olbermann's limped dick is by invite only

Published: Monday, October 09, 2006

So naturally if we post about a blog we are going pay a visit to the thing right? Well just when we thought we were about to read about the lowsy-isms of Keith Olbermann's bed ways we were greeted by the message (right) which leads us to think that the slut woman who claimed she had a one night stand with MSNBC's Keith Olbermann is holding out for something from the newsman. Just the whole fact that she didn't make the blog public smells kinda fishy to us. Or it could be a call to other women who may have experienced the same lowsy-isms with Keith!?

Earlier: Headline Screenshot of the day: But seriously, what did she expect from a fucking news anchor?

Keith Olbermann is about to get close to no action now that the NY Post is reporting that a slut female who reportedly had a one night stand with Olbermann has launched a blog about the news man's lowsy bed habits. It pays to make sure that you're a stud when your in the public's eye we guess.

"I practically begged him to explain what I did wrong. I told him I deserved some kind of explanation for such a dismissal, but I never heard from him again."

She named her blog forthisreliefmuchthanks.blogspot.com, after a line from "Hamlet" she says the perennial bachelor quoted.

Published: Friday, October 06, 2006

When we cam across this headline we were kinda confused. We started to question ourselves on whether or not we missed some major announcement a few weeks ago. We even started to wonder if Time Warner fell victim to another takeover and then it hit us. The folks at Bayou Business Review made an honest mistake in almost causing mass panic with their headline above.
