-MARTY Mike Eisner called them stupid, while telling media companies they should have kept their mouths shut about their digital businesses. Now old man Sumner Redstone, perhaps the oldest person in the media business, is speaking his piece on the writer strike and kinda implies they (the writers) are jumping the gun in demanding their cut of the digital distribution pie because digital pirates are still out there. Guess he wants them to wait until the digital pirates go away before they get a cut, which means never."Everyone seems transfixed by the riches (that digital platforms) promise," Redstone said. "The opportunities are certainly out there, but so too are the challenges -- challenges that I submit are far more imminent."
