A New York Post report set Conde Nast’s comms team in overdrive in an effort to contain what it calls false reports about a massive shake up on the horizon. New York Post reported that long time Vogue editor in chief Anna Wintour who doubles as artistic director for all of Conde Nast was planning an exit for this summer. The post also claims that Conde Nast International chief Jonathan Newhouse was moving back to New York (after selling his penthouse for $7 million last year) to potentially assume the duties of the late Si Newhouse. Reps for the company including from corporate and Vogue immediately denied the reports and Mr. Newhouse also came forward calling the reports untrue and that he was not moving back to New York or taking over for Si Newhouse.
“I am not moving back to New York and I do not plan to do so. I deny the statement that I am succeeding Si as Chairman. There are no plans for me to change my position.”
