Departures magazine formerly of the Time Inc stable of brands has a new look under new editor in chief Jeffries Blackerby. The magazine which is now part of Meredith, will introduce the newly redesigned magazine with its March/April 2018 fashion issue which is being shipped to American Express Platinum and Centurion card holders as it usually is when Departures was part of Amex Publishing which was acquired by Time Inc back in 2013. Mr. Blackerby who like every new editor of a magazine wanted to put his spin on the title by taking a more minimalist approach by “cleaning up” the magazine and adding more white space in an effort to create what he calls a “calmer experience in print” but still very visual with bigger images. His inspiration came from niche European fashion magazines.
