A few weeks ago Vice Media suspended two top execs as it conducted an investigation into sexual allegations. Those two execs were company president Andrew Creighton and Digital chief Matt Germano. Following its investigation into sexual misconduct allegations against those two men, Vice Media has officially fired Matt Germano. Mr. Germano is the cofounder and CEO of digital agency Carrot Creative which Vice Media acquired back in 2013. Vice Media will be folding Carrot Creative into its global creative agency Virtue, which was already in the works as part of the company’s plans to streamline its creative businesses. Mr. Germano’s removal comes less than a month after he was put on leave along with Mr. Creighton who is still on leave. The verdict is still out on Mr. Creighton. Even if he’s cleared, it is not likely that he will return to the company because the damage is already done and an executive can’t lead if he/she doesn’t have the respect and trust of the people he/she is leading.
