Its not all bad news out of Time Inc. The publisher which is working feverishly to re-position itself as a digital media company, reached its biggest digital audience ever in the month of September according to Comscore. Time Inc’s digital brands reached a collective 139 million across its platforms. This new digital milestone is in addition to the company’s still massive 30 million strong print subscribers. Time Inc’s People/Entertainment Weekly continues to lead the the Entertainment News category with 62 million. Its Lifestyle Network climbed to 50 million unique visits while The Sports Illustrated Group generated a new traffic record with a total digital audience of 60.4 million.
Said CEO Rich Battista:
“With 30 million print subscribers and a digital audience of 139 million, we are leveraging our massive scale and powerful brand portfolio to serve our consumers anytime, anywhere across platforms — this is the foundation of our strategy as we move quickly to generate new revenue streams and deliver growth.”
This news comes ahead of the company’s third quarter earnings report which is scheduled for November 9 and following news last week that the company began laying off staffers which is expected to total 200 when the dust settles.
