Landing on newsstands tomorrow will be Time magazine’s “Firsts”, its September 18 issue that celebrates female achievement . The multi platform special features 46 women who broke barriers with 12 newsstand covers shot on an iPhone. Some of the women featured includes Oprah for producing and owning her own talk show, Hillary Clinton for being the first female nominee of a major political party and Selena Gomez for getting 100 million followers on Instagram? OK we don’t know about that one but the issue is a powerful one.
said Time magazine editor in chief Nancy Gibbs:
“This is not a power list, this is not most famous women or most wealthy women. This really is women who have stories to tell about breaking barriers that we think are instructive and inspiring across so many different fields. I think when you read their stories and hear them talk about what motivated them, what contributed to their success, what setbacks they faced, everyone will find someone they can identify with.”
