Richard Beckman always seems to be on the move. When he left Conde Nast after almost two decades, he went on to become CEO of Prometheus Global Media where he oversaw brands like Billboard, Hollywood Reporter and Adweek. Unfortunately he only spent 2 years in that role before moving on to launch branded entertainment company Three Lions Entertainment where he oversaw the relaunch of Fashion Rocks. However Fashion Rocks lead to Three Lions being sued by CBS which put the company on the path to bankruptcy. After that fiasco Mr. Beckman landed at Vice Media where he served as Chief Revenue Officer as the company was readying its push into cable. Earlier this year he had a brief tour at the newly launched Group Nine Media as Chief Revenue Officer but clearly that gig didn’t pan out as we’re just half way through 2017. Today, Mr. Beckman’s storied career moves on as he is now the President of The Hill which is published by Capital Hill Publishing. The move reunites Mr. Beckham with James Finkelstein, Capital Hill Publishing’s chairman who was a part owner of Prometheus Global Media when Mr. Beckman was CEO. Though The Hill operates in the city which it reports on, Washington DC, Mr. Beckman will run the show from New York.
Said Mr. Beckman:
“When James first approached me about this role and his ambitious plans for The Hill, I knew the timing was right to work together again. Politics is fast becoming the most important passion point in American culture, and it’s undeniable that The Hill is at the very epicenter. I am very excited about this next phase in the development of this storied brand.”
