Cheddar, the nearly $100 million digital business news network has made it first acquisition. The company announced today that it has acquired Twitch trading game Stockstream. Cheddar which has been in rapid expansion mode across digital and terrestrial platforms recently took in another cash injection of $19 million back in May and has been putting the new funding to use. Cheddar Stockstream as it is now called will launch across all Cheddar’s platforms and creator Mike Roberts has relocated to New York City and has taken on the role of manager of Cheddar StockStream.
Said Cheddar CEO Jon Steinberg:
“Mike is a genius software developer who loves stocks. When I read about him, I knew he had to join our journey. He’s going to bring StockStream to all our platforms and continue to let his imagination run free. We are also going to get one of our great financial sponsors to integrate with and sponsor StockStream.”
