Hearst has a busy summer ahead as the company readies two magazines for release. Just last week the company revealed the cover of Airbnbmag a new travel publication in partnership with Airbnb (obviously). That publication will land on newsstands on May 23rd with a cover price of $3.99 and total circulation of 350k. Now Hearst has revealed the cover of its other new magazine called ‘The Pioneer Woman’ a partnership between the magazine giant and Food Network star Ree Drummond. The first issue will hit Walmart stores on June 6th and will feature the usual lifestyle/living topics like food, home and decor ideas and parenting advice. Hearst pioneered the celebrity/brand magazine ventures when it joined forces with then talk show queen Oprah to launch O magazine. The company has followed that formula over the years and it has proven to be a good one. However, the formula may be showing some cracks namely with Hearst’s other celebrity branded magazine ‘Dr. Oz The Good Life’. Word is the company is cutting the magazine’s publishing frequency from 10 issues to just 4 issues a year and laying off some staffers.
