MTV announces yet another Yawny! deal to distribute it's content online
Published: Tuesday, January 08, 2008
-SDH MTV Networks (MTVN) has announced a deal to to expand its online syndication by slapping it's content on websites like Veoh, Dailymotion and others. These deals are so cliche and at this point kinda useless because viewsers can probably see the same shit they're pushing on these sites already. With all the websites MTV owns and operates they still need to do deals like this. Any idiot producing Internet videos can slap his/her content on many of these sites but for MTV ads is king. Greg Clayman, EVP-digital distribution for the cable networks speaks of the deal with caution knowing that its nothing earth shattering. Where in the world is Mika Salmi?each of the partner sites has agreed to carry a branded channel and has committed to marketing that will highlight the channels. Clayman would not discuss or confirm details but I expect MTVN to get at least 70 percent of the ad revenue split with each site. MTVN will sell all of the advertising for its branded channels. Clayman said it’s too early to gauge the results of MTVN’s initial syndication push.MTVN Expands Online Syndication; Deals With Online Video Sites [PC] Labels: Digital_Media, MTV, YAWN |
