The transfer of power at TimeWarner also included the transfer of power between two media wives, Peggy Bewkes and Laura Parsons

Published: Monday, November 05, 2007

-SDH

Behind every powerful man, is an even more powerful woman. For years TimeWarner's first lady Laura Parsons (wife of Dick) heard things that many in media will never hear. She knew Jeff Bewkes was the man years in advance, even before Jeff himself. She may be the calming voice that has helped Dick Parsons navigate TimeWarner through the AOL mess. Hell for all we know she could have been running TimeWarner. But that power and influence will officially come to an end on January 1st 2008 when her husband steps aside to make room for the new Chief and first lady of TimeWarner, Jeff and Peggy Bewkes. We have no doubt Peggy has some influence on the way her husband helped ran the world's biggest media company. But now that influence will affect not only TimeWarner, but the world that it services.
