Mike eisner on his "stupid" comment and a bazooka joe movie?

Published: Sunday, November 18, 2007

-YOSH

Disney's former top mouse Mike Eisner attempts to explain his recent comments on the writers strike and shares his plans for the Topps brand in a Q&A with The New York Times. The former traditional media mogul seems to be on his way to full digital media moguldom or something like that.

As the former C.E.O. of Disney and the founder of a privately held company that invests in the digital future, you were recently speaking at a conference when you used the words “stupid” and “insanity” to describe the Writers Guild strike. Can you explain?

What I was driving at was that it was a foolish time to have a strike issue over a business and a marketplace that is not evolved enough to even know if there is a business or a marketplace there

EISNER FEARS FADING

He is part of what held digital back...what is dead WRONG with traditional media...and, should graciously get off the stage. Google takes chances first and pioneer NEW economic models. Michael should get off the stage -- and, CNBC should retire his show. NYTimes Sunday Magazine should interview Sergey Brin...not drag Michael out of mothballs.
