It's the little people who will suffer

Published: Sunday, September 02, 2007

-Jay Gavrilove

American Media Inc continues to hit new lows as the company finally, did we say finally, got around to sharing their financial statement for the fiscal year ending March 31. Now we all know that AMI is notorious for dragging their asses when it comes around to prepping for reporting time, but when will this circus stop? Not only is the company deeper in the red, but billionaire Ron Burkle may not be able to get a loan to buy them out, and to top it all off, AMI admits its incompetence when it comes to one of the most important parts of running a business.

The company concedes that it continues to uncover problems in how it gathers and reports its financial results.

"We may not be able to implement and maintain an effective system of internal controls over financial reporting," the company warned.

We give up!

trust me the little people are already suffering. They continue to hire new people knowing that the company could crumble at anytime.

This is Pecker's style from way back when he was running his other businesses. The only difference is instead of this stuff being kept internally among his conspirators , it's now all leaking out. Considering he spent many years running accounting and financial reporting departments, I find it curious that he can't install internal controls. His iron hand or should I say fist, is slipping.
