That annoying buzz is back again about News Corp's best kept secret

Rupert Murdoch continues to tease analysts and media followers about his long awaited Fox Business News Channel that will eventually fail. Over the past year or so, buzz about the channel has went up and down, even claiming one victim, a national newspaper that reported a launch was imminent when it wasn't. That could have been News Corp's plan the whole time in an effort to keep the buzz out there especially for its only would-be rival CNBC to hear. So when exactly will this business channel launch. They already did a carriage deal with Time Warner, now all they have to do is pull the curtains back and say Tadaaaa! The latest bout of mixed signals came Wednesday, with Murdoch and Chernin hinting that an announcement was close if not exactly imminent. Murdoch said during News Corp.'s latest quarterly earnings conference call that there will be an announcement "in the next week."But Chernin seemed to back off a bit, saying that the announcement should happen "soon" but declining to be more specific.Addressing the launch date, Murdoch tied it to the early fall, with Chernin saying only that it will happen "in the latter part of the calendar year."
