The way it was

We remember when love was flowing through the office suites of Newscorp. Father Murdoch and eldest son Lachlan were at the top together, well kinda. Peter Chernin had no shot at taking over when father Murdoch retired. But those days have since been shattered. Our belief, and it is our belief only, is that Newscorp Prexy, Pete Chernin and Fox News Chairman Roger Ailes worked behind the scenes to get father and some at each other's throats. Why you ask? Well look at the two people who benefited from Lachlan leaving the family business. Younger Brother James is doing ok running daddy's Sky business but if Pete Chernin has his way, that is where he will remain. Does Rupert Murdoch have a succession plan in place? Based on management structure, one would say Pete Chernin is the heir apparent to the CEO throne, but it doesn't have to play out that way. We think Lachlan Murdoch will be back in a big way at the family business and this time around he will let it be known who will be calling the shots when daddy chooses to spend his days yachting or playing with his guns.
