Direct TV wants Echostar but daddy may say no again
Published: Wednesday, March 29, 2006
We didn't even know the folks at Direct TV were allowed to even think it. Now they are letting the media world know that they are still interested in buying smaller rival Echostar. This is yet another push by Rupert Murdoch who controls Direct TV to really rule the world. The two companies tried to merge in 2002, but the deal collapsed under the weight of opposition from the Federal Communications Commission' which believed the combination of the top two satellite companies would stifle competition. No shit! Ya Think?? [Reuters] |
