The Axing trend

The Los Angeles Times plans to close a production plant and cut about 110 jobs.

The newspaper will consolidate production at three of its most modern facilities in downtown Los Angeles, Costa Mesa and Irwindale, California, according to a statement distributed by PR Newswire. The Times is owned by Chicago-based Tribune Co.
